Thelma Sanders Scholarship Gala 2025

We are Grateful for the Love and Support
Expressed towards our Honorees!

The 2025 Thelma Sanders Scholarship Gala proudly honored brothers Dr. Glake Hill, ’95, and Dr. Nicholas Hill, ’00—distinguished scholars, men of faith, and proud Tougaloo College alumni. Both honorees have dedicated their careers to advancing education, research, and service at Jackson State University. Dr. Nicholas Hill, Associate Professor of Economics, and Dr. Glake Hill, Jr., a renowned Chemistry Professor and researcher, exemplified academic excellence, mentorship, ministry, and a deep love for Tougaloo’s enduring legacy of leadership and lifelong learning. The gala was held on Friday, December 26, to a sold-out crowd. The evening was masterfully hosted by comedian Rita Brent, whose wit and warmth set the tone for a memorable celebration, while the Time To Move Band kept the energy high and the atmosphere vibrant throughout the night. The love and support shown for our honorees were truly outstanding. JTAC is deeply grateful for the overwhelming response, as the generosity demonstrated will help us continue to support Tougaloo College and provide scholarships for deserving students. We hope you enjoyed the special tribute video produced by Tiara Jackson, '25, and now take a moment to view our souvenir journal below.
